As with other independent Speech and Language agencies, your child will be assessed by a fully qualified therapist.

At Core Speech and Language, we are then able to provide a unique service by offering core sessions of therapy, delivered by an experienced Speech and Language Therapy Assistant.

Assistants are an integral part of the SLT teams in the NHS.

The RCSLT (Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists) acknowledge the important role that Assistants have in the delivery of effective speech and language therapy services.

The following is taken from their policy statement for education and training for assistants –

“Assistants are integral members of both speech and language therapy and multi-disciplinary teams, engaged in a wide range of clinical settings with diverse client groups, duties and responsibilities.”

By working alongside our therapist colleagues, we are able to deliver the core aspects of therapy in a more cost-effective way.

About Core Speech and Language

The ability to communicate affects every aspect of our lives. It’s essential we nurture our child’s communication skills so they’re capable of expressing themselves. The more effectively they communicate the better their quality of life will be.

Starting from birth, children develop the skills they need to be able to make their feelings understood, to listen, learn and to forge friendships.

Sometimes, due to a variety of reasons, the ability to communicate does not come easily. Your child may then encounter difficulties that affect their behaviour, self-esteem, friendships, reading, writing, learning and understanding.

The team members at Core Speech and Language have all worked within the public sector for many years, and provide a wide range of fun and engaging activities for each session. We are adaptable and carefully tailor each session so your child is able to work towards meeting their personal objectives.

Your child will see the same Assistant or Therapist each time, giving them the opportunity to build a relationship so that they can fulfil their full potential.
