How do we work?

Therapy

At Core Speech and Language, we provide therapy that meets your child’s needs quickly and with added flexibility. We are able to work in your home, at preschool and other educational settings, at times which are convenient to you and your family.

When you sign up with Core Speech and Language your child will be assessed by one of our fully qualified Speech and Language Therapists. They will set a programme of objectives that an Assistant will work on with your child until they are achieved, or need reviewing or updating.

The sessions will be tailored to meet your child’s needs, depending on the age of your child and the types of objectives that need to be worked on. The sessions will be fun and geared to your child’s abilities, interests and learning style so that they are effective and enjoyable.

It is really important that you engage in your child’s therapy so that the strategies used in the sessions are carried over into everyday life. With your support and positive encouragement, they will make the best progress possible. If for some reason you cannot attend education-based sessions, the Assistant will feedback to you on the progress made in the session and what to work on at home.

Our Assistants and Therapists will provide you with the resources you need to carry out the therapy tasks and can also guide you to appropriate websites, apps and books to help you work at home.

Our Assistants and Therapists will also liaise regularly with each other to ensure your child will be reviewed when needed and therapy can be stepped up or down as appropriate.

About Core Speech and Language

We are adaptable and carefully tailor each session so your child is able to work towards meeting their personal objectives.

Your child will see the same Assistant or Therapist each time, giving them the opportunity to build a relationship so that they can fulfil their full potential.
