When you can discuss any concerns about your child and ask any questions you may have.
The initial assessment will last around 1-1/2 hours and take place in the most suitable environment for your child. Either in the comfort of your home or at your child’s educational setting. From this assessment, a programme will be written. This can be carried out by a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant, school or parents.
If therapy with an assistant is appropriate, they will work to a plan devised by their link therapist. The number and frequency of sessions will be discussed with you. The sessions can take place in your home or your child’s educational setting.
These sessions will last approximately 45 minutes to an hour and will include;
Face to face therapy, working on targets.
Feed back to parents / school staff demonstrating any activities they will be carrying out.
All preparation, planning and record keeping.
Materials and resources needed for session and for home practice.
After your initial assessment it may not be clinically appropriate for an assistant to deliver all your child’s therapy. We will advise you on how their therapy journey would will look and the number of sessions needed to be delivered by a therapist
These sessions will last approximately 45 minutes to an hour and will include;

Materials and resources needed for session and for home practice.
Additional resource making by a Therapist or an Assistant £30 an hour
Report after Initial Assessment £60
Additional admin e.g., reports to support EHCP / statement for DLA. Costs will be discussed on an individual basis .
During treatment are free up to 10 minutes.
Travel is costed at 45p a mile.
Parents are required to pay any parking costs.
